Open bore

Technology description:

Sidetracking from open bore section using a hollow whipstock. Connection between the two bores is cased, but without forming a sealed joint. It is designed for wells with no transit zones at the window interval and with unstable rocks.

Applications:

  • Stable carbonate rocks;
  • Unstable carbonate rocks;
  • No intermediate sublayers across casing window interval.
